Best Practices for In-Person Meet-ups
Verify User Profiles
Thoroughly review a user's profile before engaging with them. Look for complete profiles with positive reviews.
Communicate Exclusively in the App
Do not share personal contact information and only use the chat feature in the app.
Inform a Confidant/Bring a friend
Always inform a trusted individual of what you are doing and where you will be going. Consider bringing a friend with you or sharing your live location for extra safety.
Meet in a Safe Place
Always choose a well lit, public space with a reasonable flow of people for all meetings.
Inspect for Quality & Conditions
When engaging in any transaction, carefully inspect the items or the job that has been done to ensure you are satisfied in terms of quality and condition.
Use Secure Payment/Exchange Methods
If you are engaging in a paid transaction, be sure to use secure payment methods. Alset does not track these transactions so you are free to use your preferred method. Cash is often easiest but you may also consider using a service like Venmo or Paypal.
Exercise Caution When Inviting Service Providers into Private Spaces
Consider meeting with service providers in a public place before inviting them to a private space like your car or home. It is a good idea to have a friend with you any time you invite someone into a private space.
Report Suspicious or Inappropriate Listings/Activity
Always report any suspicious activity that you come across in the app. Be sure to leave a review after your transaction to help others make informed decisions about who they decide to engage with. To report an inappropriate listing, click the flag in the top right corner of the screen
Remember the 3 Guiding Principles for Making an Agreement
1. Always remain honorable to yourself and the other party by being true to your word and respecting the goods or services being exchanged

2, Decrease controversy by expressing expectations and communicating clearly

3, Look for remedies if controversy arrises by renegotiating or dissolving the agreement to the likings of both parties
